Ninho de Luz

O “Ninho de Luz”, fala do ventre materno como o ninho da humanidade. O ser gerado num ninho de luz, a iluminação do mesmo para a nova vida.

 Uma rede que transporta vida em forma de feto luminoso, envolto em plástico encontra-se dentro de um ventre de arame trabalhado como um pano de croché, no umbigo e seios simboliza a feminilidade, assim como a maternidade. A simbologia desta peça é a de que todos vimos ao mundo iluminados, apesar de o seu mundo exterior ser frio e hostil.

Quis dar leveza ao seu aspeto global, pois considero que o ponto forte da mesma é o seu interior que se acende pressionando um botão que se encontra no umbigo e que por sua vez está ligado ao umbigo do feto, iluminando-o. Por isso escolhi a silicone para construir o feto, para se poder ver a luz do seu interior, simulando uma coluna vertebral e o cordão umbilical que o irá ligar ao exterior. Uma visão Modernista sobre a maternidade.

Nest of Light

 

The nest of light represents the maternal womb as the nest of mankind - the being  bred in a nest of light as well as its illumination towards the new life.

A net that carries life in a form of a luminous fetus, wrapped in plastic, can be found inside a wired womb which has been manufactured like a crochet cloth. The belly button and the breasts symbolize femininity as well as motherhood. The symbology of this piece is that we are all born illuminated, despite our cold and hostile external world.

Lightness was conferred to the global appearance of this piece because its strength resides in its interior which is lit by pressing a switch placed in the belly button, which in turn is connected to the fetus' bellybutton, hence, illuminating it. For this reason, silicon was chosen to make the fetus, in order to enable light to be seen emanating from its interior, simulating, simultaneously, a spine and the umbilical noose that will connect the fetus to the external world. For the base, a dry palm branch with brown and orange tones and dates overhanging from the shoots was chosen, symbolizing its support in nature, like a stork's nest, a symbol of birth.
